Annual Conference:
Academy sponsors an Annual Conference with focus on interdisciplinary approach
to a topic of common interest, alternately in India and Abroad. So far the conferences
have been organized in different parts of India, Nepal, Mauritius, Cambridge
University, UK, Mayo Clinic, USA, Lahore Medical College, Pakistan.
(ii) Continuing Education:
The Academy is promoting CME in India and abroad. Of late IMSA fellows are engaged
in organising RURAL CME as part of the chapter activity.
(iii) Professional recognition:
Award of fellowship / membership (FIMSA / MIMSA) is a recognition of professional
excellence of a Fellow / Member and his/her contribution to medical education
and public health. Awardees can attach FIMSA / MIMSA after their names.
(iv) Journal:
JIMSA, a quaterly publication, is supplied free to all Fellows / Members. Non
Fellows / Non Members can also get the JIMSA copy on payment and/or access the
website (www.jimsaonline.com).

IMSA Fellowship:
- Graduation from a Medical School / College acceptable to IMSA and Registered with the Medical Council of India.
- Post-Graduate Medical Qualifications, save in exceptional cases.
- Eight years standing in the profession after post graduation or ten years of standing in the profession after Diploma.
- Fellowship fee-India Rs. 25,000/- (USD 1200 for other counties*)
IMSA Membership:
- Graduation from a Medical School / College acceptable to IMSA and Registered with the Medical Council of India.
- Post-Graduate Medical Qualifications, save in exceptional cases.
- Post graduation or Diploma.
- Membership fee-India Rs. 12000/- (USD 900 for other countries*)
Associate Membership of IMSA:
- Graduation from a Medical School / College acceptable to IMSA and Registered with the Medical Council of India.
- Enrolled for a Post Graduation Programme (subject to submission of a certificate from the Institute).
- Associate membership fee-India is Rs. 8000/- (USD 800 for other countries*)
Note: On fulfillment of the criteria for the category, the applicant can apply for IMSA Membership or IMSA Fellowship, as the case may be.
Privileges
of Fellows:
- To be present and vote at all
Conventions.
- To propose and recommend candidates
for Fellowship.
- To introduce visitors at the
Annual Conventions of the IMSA.
- To have personal access to
the Library of the IMSA.
- To take out books, plates,
drawings, manuscripts etc. from
the Library subject to such regulations
as may be prescribed by the Executive
Committee.
- To receive copies of the proceedings
and transactions of IMSA issued
during the continuance of their
Fellowship and of such other
publications as the Executive
Committee may decide from time
to time and subject to the direction
of the Executive Committee, purchase
at reduced price any of the IMSA
publication.
- To fill any office in the IMSA
on being duly elected.
- To promote scientific activities
of the IMSA, especially in their
own section / chapters / units.
Privileges
of Members:
Members will be enjoying all the
privileges as that of the Fellows
with the exception of (a), (b)
and (g) as mentioned above.
