Opening of the article

Malaria is the most important parasitic disease of humans and often the most common cause of fever in tropics. Malaria is one of the most common treatable and preventable infectious diseases in the world. Malaria kills millions of people every year. In 2016, there were an estimated 445 000 deaths from malaria globally, compared to 446 000 estimated deaths in 2015. Most of these deaths are in the poorest regions of the world. The presence of multi-organ dysfunction adversely affects prognosis.
