Obsessive compulsive symptoms and obsessive-compulsive disorder are known to be fairly common comorbid conditions occurring with Schizophrenia and Bipolar Affective Disorder. Many studies of Schizophrenia with OCD have reported an early age of onset, depressive and negative symptoms, poor prognosis in patients. A meta-analysis of Schizophrenia comorbid with obsessive compulsive disorder found a prevalence of around 12%.
