Background: The main challenge facing laparoscopic surgery is the primary abdominal access, as it is usually associated with vascular and visceral injuries, being a blind procedure. According to various studies, 50% of laparoscopic major complications occur prior to the commencement of surgery i.e while creating pneumoperitoneum. No single technique or instrument has stood the test of time and eliminated laparoscopic entry associated injuries completely.
