Background: According to The European Hernia Society, ventral hernias include primary and incisional. Epigastric and umbilical hernias are considered as primary ventral hernias, unless they are caused by an incision. Use of mesh implant in ventral hernia repair has long been a gold standard and consequently different types of mesh have been developed. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted on fifty patients with confirmed diagnosis of ventral hernia planned for open hernia repair.
